This tree suffers from a double whammy of disrespect.

The most obvious dissing comes from spray paint “artistes” who have tagged the trunk. Pathetic little morons.

The second and more severe issue is harder to spot. Look up. Wa-a-a-y way up. Notice the two little bulbs/barnacles/cysts right up at the top of the picture? Notice the wires coming out and going to the right and left? Our dear municipal electrical utility plants dead trees all along our streets to suspend essential things like cablevision wires through the air. In this case, they have attached guy wires to a live tree to support their dead tree trunks.

We’ve got to get our priorities straight.
