This front porch has just been repaired. Rather than do the minimum, the property owner cared enough to expand the front porch to become a more usable sitting area. This is tangible evidence of someone loving their front yard, and engaging the street.
And here is another fix up, with new retaining walls and perennials. This improvement is probably not necessary to keep the building occupied, but it shows more pride in the neighborhood by the landlord.
I’ve been going door to door a LOT lately (the election, you know) and it is fascinating how some people see the connexion between the house and the street and others miss it completely, even if they are house proud and have landscaping.
