An ordinary glass OC Transpo bus shelter, this one on Bronson Avenue, is transformed with printed window cling film into a casino hut with a vaguely tropical influence.
Imaginative, eye-catching, fairly cheap transformation of a standard urban fixture. I like it.
I had taken a few photos of them before Bluesfest hit and intended to post about them. I think they’re a hideous mickey-mouse style commercialization of public infrastructure, and they obstruct a lot of the view from within and beyond the bus shelter. They provide a convenient place to conceal vandalism and other unwanted activity, and make it harder to see behind them, in case someone is perhaps hiding behind one to trap and rob a person inside.
